Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes. You will receive a tax receipt for one-time donations of $20 or more by email in 3-5 business days. Tax receipts for monthly donations are sent monthly as well.

Can I leave a gift to a specific area?

We encourage you to first consider an undesignated donation, which gives us the flexibility to give funds in the areas of greatest need. However, if you do decide to designate your gift to a specific area, we can make sure your gift goes to the area you want it to.

The Foundation applies a fee of 10 percent to all designated donations. The 10 percent fee significantly enhances our capacity to raise and grant funds for the highest priority needs within our healthcare community. It further enables us to cover essential administrative costs such as stewardship, granting, and reporting, ensuring the sustainability of our operations.

Who should I contact if I want to cancel or change my monthly donation?

If you need to make a change or cancel your monthly donation, contact us at: give@calgaryhealthfoundation.ca or call (403)943-0615.

Who do I contact if I want to run an event on behalf of the Foundation?

If you’re interested on running an event, please contact Heather Innes, Director, Community Engagement & Donor Relations at heather.innes@calgaryhealthfoundation.ca.

How do I update my contact information?

To update your contact information, please email: fundraising@calgaryhealthfoundation.ca.

I just received a phone call from someone claiming to be on behalf of Calgary Health Foundation. Is this legitimate?

We work with two telemarketing agencies, Public Outreach and Frontline Fundraising to conduct thank you and fundraising calling. If you are concerned about the call’s legitimacy, please reach out to us and we will confirm any ongoing campaigns.

What does the 10% administrative fee go to on restricted gifts?

This administrative fee gives Calgary Health Foundation flexibility in strategic investments, giving increased flexibility for charitable disbursements. This fee is aligned with industry standards which means 90% of restricted funds will go directly to charitable disbursements.

How do I volunteer with Calgary Health Foundation?

We’re always looking for volunteers to help make a difference in our community! If you’re interested in volunteering, fill out the volunteer form here.

Should I let Calgary Health Foundation know that I've left a gift in my will?

Yes. We would like to thank you and also ensure that your gift is properly recognized and that we understand specifically where you want your gift to go. We are genuinely moved when a donor’s last wishes include Calgary Health Foundation. We are committed to fulfilling your wishes. Making a bequest is easy and you don’t need to re-write an existing will to add a charitable gift. For more information on an estate gift, click here.
