We have served the community for over 25 years, and, thanks to the generosity of our donors, Calgary Health Foundation has raised over $528 million for health care.
In the year ended March 31, 2021, we raised more than $22.5 million was raised for care, wellness and research initiatives and we were quickly able to pivot during the public health crisis to advance support for COVID-19. Of that, donations made to the foundation were $8.3 million and our collective lotteries raised over $13.8M in net revenue for health priorities such as mental health.
Breakthrough investments in care, wellness, and research are helping to challenge the status quo, and last year we were pleased to disburse more than $14 million to advance health care across southern Alberta. With generous community contributions and an investment of $4M, including gift in kind contributions, we supported Alberta Health Services by doubling COVID-19 lab testing capacity, providing tablet computers to isolated long-term care residents and bolstering Albertan’s emotional health through the “Text4Hope” initiative. Together, we recognized thousands of southern Alberta frontline health care workers with gratitude meals and invested in urgent research to improve COVID-19 treatments.
The impact made through these investments would not be possible without the dedication of donors and the partnerships we have with innovators and leaders in the medical community.
We diligently evaluate our cost to raise a dollar and measure effectiveness over a three-year average. Our cost to raise a dollar three-year average is currently $0.25 cents.
