Celebrating volunteers for National Volunteer Week!

The work we do simply couldn’t be done without the amazing volunteers at Calgary Health Foundation. We’re excited to share these profiles to get to know a bit more about who these volunteers are. Thank you to all of our volunteers!

Iveta Andreeva

Iveta has been on the Board of Calgary Health Foundation for two years. For her, volunteering in a healthcare space extends far beyond volunteering activities and has become a transformative force for her that has promoted self-worth, compassion and a connection to humanity.

She’s passionate about supporting healthcare initiatives, allowing her to see first-hand the positive impact the work Calgary Health Foundation has on patients and families.

For Iveta, the most rewarding experience has been giving back to the community, while teaching her young children the value of volunteering so they learn they can also make a difference for positive change.

Jas Jassar

Jas has volunteered with Calgary Health Foundation for a year, having the opportunity to participate in various fundraising events and community initiatives, which have been very fulfilling for him.

For Jas, the most rewarding experience has been witnessing how the support we help generate translates into tangible improvements – whether it’s new equipment, enhanced patient care programs, or simply putting a smile on someone’s face.

Iva & Theingi

Iva & Theingi are a mother-daughter duo that have been volunteering with Calgary Health Foundation for almost a year. For both of them, making an impact is what drives them to volunteer.

Some of the most memorable experiences for them have been interactions with residents at the Carewest facilities. Joining their community for a few hours and being able to strike up conversations with the residents while hearing their personal stories has been very meaningful.

They’ve always wanted to give back to the healthcare system. Their belief is small actions can go a long way. Volunteering has given both of them the chance for personal growth and knowing that help is needed to support healthcare makes their lives feel more meaningful.
