Heroes in health – A personal way for patients & families to say ‘Thanks’
Heroes in Health is a new program designed to provide patients and their families an opportunity to express gratitude to Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Carewest staff. We have heard from many of our donors, and members of our community how grateful they are for the compassion, professionalism, empathy, and exemplary care you provide and demonstrate to them, daily.
How does it work?
- A patient, friend, or their loved ones can honour an individual AHS or Carewest member or care team by making a donation through Heroes in Health.
- Calgary Health Foundation sends a message of thanks to the grateful patient or family who made a donation.
- Calgary Health Foundation will share a certificate with all heroes, including a special message of thanks from the donor if they choose to incude one.
- An individual recognized Hero will receive a pin for recognition milestones (see chart below), and groups who receieve recognition (Heroes) will receive a Calgary Health Foundation lanyard.
- Quarterly reports highlighting all Heroes in Health will be shared with AHS leadership and management.
- If you have been honoured and would like your name removed from quarterly reports, please contact the foundation directly at CHFcomms@calgaryhealthfoundation.ca.
- Gifts are directed to the Hero in Health site greatest needs fund the donor selects.
- Calgary Health Foundation cannot disclose individual gift amounts, as we honour donor privacy.
